Northern Cardinal feathers
by Mark ~ December 31st, 2009. Filed under: birds, macro, nature photography. These images are dedicated to a male Northern Cardinal that unfortunately struck the back door of my house and did not survive. I felt horrible. Before I placed his body to rest in one of our pine trees that he so frequently liked to visit, I captured these few images as a remembrance of his wonderful feathers and visits to our yard.

That is a bummer to lose such a beautiful avian visitor. At least his feathers went to good use, those are awesome!
Happy New Year,
Ron

Very sad about about the Cardinal, but those things happen in nature. I’m glad you captured the beauty of its feathers here. Excellent!
Mark, I hope you and your family have a wonder New Year.
